On April 26, 2012, I shared the UW-Platteville Creative Writing Festival stage with the student winners of the undergraduate writing contests in poetry and fiction. It was weird and wonderful to share my poetry with students and colleagues, and very gratifying to witness how much the creative writing program has grown since I arrived two years ago. Special thanks to my colleague, fiction writer Stormy Stipe, the chair of the Humanities Department, Terry Burns, and the students for all of their enthusiasm and talent.
